Language studies at Sacred Heart provide students with the opportunity to broaden their understanding of other cultures and to develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in another language.
In Year 7 students have the opportunity to experience one semester of Japanese and one semester of French. In Year 8 students elect to continue with one of these two languages, which they can continue to study through to Year 10 and beyond.
Language studies explore grammar based on themes of greetings and personal interactions, self and family, and basic conversation. French and Japanese studies provide students with opportunities to learn more about their world, broadening their understanding of, and sensitivity to other cultures.
